Loved Before is – brilliantly – an adoption agency for pre-loved soft toys.
After starting out online, the brand has branched out to sell in Selfridges’ London, Birmingham and Trafford stores, bringing the joy of pre-loved goods to more children, adults and soft toys around the UK.

Loved Before takes pre-loved toys in need of a fresh start, and finds them new happy homes. Each one is treated as the individual they are, and the team takes a keen interest in their likes, dislikes and character quirks.
After the toys have been entrusted into the care of the Loved Before team by their previous owners, they spend some time visiting the LB spa to make sure they’re on top form for meeting their new families. They’re then ready for their new adventure – either being listed online or heading to the shelves of Selfridges.
Since it started, Loved Before has donated over 50% of its profits to charity, with their chosen charity at the time of writing this being Make-a-Wish UK.

While most of the toys come to the LB team complete with a name and a life story, a significant number don’t. That’s where I come in.
From time to time, I sit down with the toys over a cuppa and a custard cream so that I can find out all about them, learn their name and tell their story. And then I get writing.
You’d be amazed at the tales some of them have to tell.
