Flourish Retail offers a range of retail merchandising support for small and growing independent businesses.

Founded on the principles used by big businesses, it aims to help smaller businesses benefit from the know-how of their bigger rivals.

Before coming to me, founder Sarah had established the brand, working with small and growing independent businesses such as Scamp & Dude and Astrid & Miyu. When the time came to take the business to the next level, and Sarah realised she needed to invest in her brand’s copy.

THE CHALLENGE

How do you make the complicated simple?

Numbers. Spreadsheets. Jargon. Merchandising can feel quite intimidating.

So how do we make these often complicated (and always powerful) concepts and calculations simple for people to understand?

THE INSIGHT

You don’t.

You make it accessible, instead – because merchandising really, genuinely is complex.

The real challenge is to make the complex accessible and friendly.

THE APPROACH

Big business merchandising for independent businesses

Sarah’s approach to merchandising is light-hearted, down-to-earth and fun – but she always has her big calculator in hand (and she’s not afraid to use it). I created copy that reflects her personality, and that of her team, welcoming businesses with open arms, no matter what stage they’re at on their journey.

The new copy is clear and friendly, raising the odd smile along the way.

THE CLIENT SAYS…

“Megan is brilliant.”

“Megan is brilliant. Sometimes I don’t quite know what it is that I want to convey, but she gets into my head (in a good way!), finds what is important and then puts pen to paper. Through her thorough understanding of me, my brand and my target audience, she is able to use words creatively and constructively to get across exactly what I want to say. I won’t publish anything vaguely important now without her expert eye being cast over it!”
